The phenomena of the spiral is located throughout the natural world, found in everything from nautili and galaxies, to fractals and sacred geometries. Much like the gravitational pull of patterns in the universe, Jen Stark’s series of generative vortexes pays homage to the intricate systems present in our daily lives.

In 2021, Stark translated her unique paper sculpture techniques into code, employing harmonic sine waves to craft a series of 1,000 distinct iterations named “Vortex,” released on Art Blocks. For her showcase at RLWindow, she has handpicked 5 pieces from this series to feature in a looping video wall installation. This exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort with Art Blocks.
